it’s the end of the road for the American version of The X Factor

After three seasons of less-than-stellar ratings, with a history of mentors who included Britney Spears and Demi Lovato, Fox on Friday canceled the U.S. version of Simon Cowell‘s singing competition.

“I’ve had a fantastic time over the last 12 years, both on The X Factor and American Idol,” Cowell, 54, says in a statement. “And apart from being lucky enough to find some amazing talent on the shows, I have always had an incredible welcome from the American public (most of the time!).”

I did not like that show. I really think I didn’t like it because of Simon. The chemistry with the voice coaches is amazing!

Simon and Lauren are having….

Simon voiced, “…I kind of knew it was going to be a boy. I just had this feeling, well the fact that I was calling it Tad, you know, that is kind of a guy’s name. I just had that feeling.”

Confused about the Tad part? Simon said that when he saw the baby (what we’re assuming is the sonogram) he thought it looked like a tadpole. You know, a baby frog!

Oh great! Another Simon! That’s one person I don’t want a Mini me of!
